To truly start off, let’s take a look at Moz’s plans and prices. The company offers quite a few different plans for you to choose from, each of which, naturally, comes with different features.
1) Standard Plan
Standard plan comes as the cheapest Moz plan, with a price of $99 per month. This is a plan that is good enough for those who just need a basic SEO tool, although it does have limited capabilities.
2) Medium Plan
Medium plan is the most popular one, according to Moz’s website, and it increases the limits of the standard plan. It also comes at a higher price for $179 per month.
3) Large Plan
Large plan will cost you $249 per month, but it is the ideal one for businesses and agencies that approach researching seriously. The plan provides excellent value, and it is very much worth the money.
4) Premium Plan
The last of the standard plans is Moz’s Premium plan, which is quite a bit pricier than the ones mentioned previously. It costs $599 per month, and it is the most popular choice when it comes to large SEO-focused agencies.
It will also serve you well if you have an in-house marketing team. Basically, it all depends on how much research you need to do, and how thorough you wish to go.
5) Moz Enterprise
Lastly, there is the Moz Enterprise plan, which will allow you to stay competitive and grow your business with Moz’s professional help. However, this is a plan for which you need to get in direct contact with Moz and discuss the details.
With that out of the way, let’s see what Moz actually offers.
Moz Pro Features
Over the years, Moz has added all kinds of features, and it made sure to keep them as useful and as user-friendly as possible. This comes as a consequence of both, the desire to provide a useful, easy-to-use product, but also to stay relevant, as the competition in the SEO space remains quite strong.
In the end, Moz ended up with a lengthy list of features, which includes:

Let’s take a deeper look into each of these and see what it does, and how it performs.
The first thing to talk about is Campaigns. Basically, as soon as you sign up to Moz Pro, the first thing it will want to know is which website you want it to track.
Of course, it will also require access to Google Analytics in order to make sense of the site’s traffic, and provide you with useful data.
It will also require you to choose some target keywords, with some useful suggestions, if you are new and don’t know where to begin. Once you provide it with this input, you can just sit back and wait for it to do the rest.
It will make sense of the data, and provide you with some very useful information about your site, that will allow you to better understand it, and see some potential shortcomings.
Next, we have a section called Rankings, where you can explore how your page ranks for targeted keywords on search engines. This is also very useful, as you can see which keywords can get you to the top.
Not only that, but you can also analyze how optimized the ranking page is for any specific keyword. You also get to compare how your site ranks on mobile vs desktop, or even compare it against your competitors, and see who ranks higher.
Another, perhaps the most useful thing, is that you can see keywords that slipped in by accident. This happens all the time, and you may rank rather well for some keywords that you were not even aware of. If there are any, Moz Pro will figure them out and bring them to your attention.
3. Site Crawl
Once you rank high enough, and those interested in your content can actually find you, you need to be able to keep them. Of course, the quality of your content plays a major role here, but what we are talking about right now is your site’s functionality.
Users don’t like slow sites, and if you need more than a few seconds for the site to load, they will simply leave. They particularly hate broken sites, where links lead to nowhere, and they end up on 404 Error pages, and alike.
Moz Pro offers a Site Crawl feature that will analyze your website and identify any such problems, giving you a chance to discover them and fix them early, and not have your visitors run into them first.
Naturally, any all-in-one SEO tool needs to have a link building feature in order to even be considered decent. This is important, as links are pretty much the most important ranking factor.
With Moz’s Links feature, you can easily analyze all the backlinks that your website already has. You can select a specific period and see how many new links you got or lost during that time, and you can see your Moz performance over time. Naturally, generating high-quality links will increase your DA and PA, which will be helpful for your site’s overall performance.
There is a lot that you can do here, organize your links according to different metrics, and learn which of the moves you made so far are good, and which ones were not. You even get to set up custom reports, which is great for SEO agencies that need to update their clients with their progress.
5. Page Optimization
Page Optimization is another useful feature that allows you to see how optimized your page is for specific keywords. You get a number of keywords on a specific page, the overall score of the page, keyword locations, Page factors, and more useful details.
In total, there are around 27 different features that Moz Pro will check for, plus, it will identify any issues that need resolving. Lastly, it also has Content Suggestions, which can help you figure out which words and phrases to include to make your page rank as best as possible with the content it has to work with.
6. On-Page Grader
On-Page Grader is a feature rather similar to the Page Optimization feature. As the name suggests, it allows you to check how optimized your page is for a targeted keyword.
You can easily run pretty much any page, and have it analyzed in seconds. Once again, you get the details about the page, as well as a grade, which gives the tool its name. The feature is pretty much the same as the previous one, and there is nothing much to say that was not already said before.
7. Link Research
Link Research is an old feature that has been around for a while. Previously, it was known as Open Site Explorer. However, its purpose is mostly the same — it analyzes the site’s link profile, and provides you with plenty of useful information about it.
It functions as the feature Links, although with Link Research, you can also analyze sites outside of Campaigns too. While there is not much more to say about this feature, there is no doubt that it is very useful and needed for close inspection of all important aspects of your website.
Similarly to Page Optimization and On-Page Grader, Link Research is also almost exactly the same as the tool Links, which we already mentioned above. The only real difference between them is that this one offers on-demand link profile analysis for pretty much any website, while Links lets you only do it for the website you are monitoring.
8. Local Market Analytics
The next feature to talk about is Local Market Analytics, which comes as part of Moz’s attempt to return to its SEO tools and make them better and more attractive.
This feature, in particular, is especially meant for physical businesses, which have real stores, offices, and alike. They are becoming more and more aware of the benefits of maintaining a proper online presence. They have seen others succeed, and they understand how beneficial it can be for a brand.
With Local Market Analytics, they can determine metrics to analyze their market’s landscape. They can get valuable data and create a brand new SEO strategy based on that data. That way, they can focus more on the areas in which they are lacking, and not overdo the parts where they are already good.
However, it should be noted that this feature is in beta currently, and not yet available. But, it is coming, and it is a signal of Moz’s development and movement in the right direction.
9. Rank Checker
Rank Checker is yet another feature that is basically a copy of the feature from within Campaigns — Ranking. This one appeared as an independent feature only recently, and it allows you to check pages for various targeted keywords, and check out how they rank.
It works on any site or page you wish to use it on, so it can be useful for conducting analysis on the go. However, you should note that it is not very intuitive, and you need to manually enter the desired keywords and corresponding URLs to get proper results. So, if you have thousands of them, this won’t be a very useful feature.
10. Keyword Research
Nearing the end of our list, we have Keyword Research, which could be one of Moz’s biggest and best achievements so far. The feature allows for traditional keyword research, as well as competitor-based research.
It offers very important metrics, details, and overall insight into the competitor’s platform and which keywords to search for. It will analyze and present data such as keyword difficulty, volume, but also additional metrics, like Priority metrics and Organic CTR.
It is a very insightful tool, without a doubt, and having it would be more than useful for keeping track of your competitors’ performance.
11. On-Demand Crawl
With On-Demand crawl, you can crawl any website and check for various errors, issues, and problems on its pages. Of course, the feature does have its limits, such as only allowing you to crawl 3,000 pages, in total. Moz will not register new pages once you exceed this number, so you should not even bother.
Once again, a similar tool exists in Campaigns, so it is nothing new, except for the fact that you can also check out your competitors, instead of your own website only.
12. Fresh Web Explorer
If you have a unique keyword and name, you can do a detailed web search for it by using the Fresh Web Explorer feature.
The feature is actually quite useful to keep an eye on your site’s mentions, and the tool allows you to see how many pages mention the phrase, in what duration, and alike.
It also lets you set up alerts that arrive at your emails if your page is mentioned. Of course, this could easily become annoying and difficult to deal with, so you may want to disable it after a while, but it is useful for helping you find unlinked mentions, engage with your audience, keep an eye on what your competition is saying about you, and alike.
Finally, the last on the list is MozBar. This is not a part of the Moz tool exactly, but rather a Chrome extension for Moz.
You can use it to extract SERP results, analyze all kinds of SEO metrics, and more. It is a tool worth having if you have Moz itself, so do consider it.
And, that’s it for our Moz Pro review. Clearly, Moz has been making a lot of progress, and while plenty of its tools are duplicates when it comes to their function, they are still there because they serve a specific purpose.
All of the same tools that are a part of the Campaigns will quickly and easily analyze your site, while the individual ones can be used to analyze competitors. In the end, you will find a use for them, there is no doubt about it.
